Starting with the exhibition introducing the excavated items from the Uenohara site, the oldest and largest settlement in Japan, slip back in time with the museum's vast deciduous tree and evergreen forests, a reconstructed Jomon village, a theater where you can experience Jomon period, and try your hand at making fire and pottery. From the view from the hill, you can see Sakurajima, Kinko (Kagoshima) Bay, and the Kirishima mountains.
