This course lets you experience the latest spots and Edo culture of Tokyo and the hot springs and history of Oita, a place rich in nature.

You will travel around major tourist spots in the capital city, and enjoy the latest experience-style facilities and famous Edo culture spots that can only be found in Tokyo. You do not just tour these places, but you can experience the appeal of "old meets new" for yourself. You then fly for about 1 hour 40 minutes from Tokyo to the nature-abundant Oita. Here you can experience unique hot spring culture or making Japanese sweets and bamboo products that were born in the region. Oita has much to offer, including its hot springs.

SHIBUYA SKY was built with three zones: SKY GATE, a transitional space on the 14F–45F; SKY STAGE, an outdoor observation area; and SKY GALLERY, an indoor observation corridor on the 46F. Not only can you see 360 degrees of scenery from 229m above Shibuya, but the observation spaces stimulate intellectual curiosity and foster imagination through a series of experiences.

Edo Kiriko Asakusa Ojima

Edo Kiriko is a traditional Japanese glass craft that evolved toward the end of the Edo period. It is characterized by beautiful cut patterns, soft curves that evoke the Edo sentimentality, and myriad designs. At this long-established traditional workshop in Asakusa that has been in business for three generations, you can learn the techniques of Edo Kiriko from craftsmen who have inherited the traditions since the Edo period, and experience the process of "arazuri" which involves engraving patterns into transparent glass. You can create your own original glass work using traditional Edo Kiriko techniques. Information in English is also available to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of traditional Japanese crafts. The production experience takes place while you learn how to cut and choose designs under the guidance of a craftsman. You can take the completed work with you right after the experience, making it the perfect memorabilia of your trip to Japan.

SUIGIAN

Enjoying traditional Japanese performing arts up close, while sitting through a banquet, is one of the luxurious experiences that is unique to SUIGIAN. Live performances of traditional Japanese performing arts such as Noh, Kyogen, Kagura, Gagaku, and Nihon-buyo are held day and night on the Noh stage positioned in the center of the restaurant. The sight of seasonal dishes being served to the rhythm of Noh is truly entertaining. The menu expresses the 24 seasons and 72 micro-seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar with attentive detail, alongside a lineup of teas from long-established tea shops in Kyoto and sweet Kyoto confectionery. You can enjoy pairings of seasonal teas with dishes, season-themed cocktails prepared by skilled bartenders, and carefully curated Japanese sake and wine. Come experience Japanese culture and the seasons at the site of the legendary restaurant MOMOKAWA, which was a favorite among many literary figures and artists in the historic Nihonbashi district of Tokyo.

Toyosu Market and Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai

Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai

These are two major sightseeing spots in the Toyosu area. Toyosu Shijou is a new market that was relocated from Tsukiji Market, and is especially famous for its early-morning tuna auction. Uogashi Yokocho is also a popular section, where you can view the auctions from the viewing walkway and enjoy meals of sushi and tempura. English-speaking guides and information boards available inside the market. Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai is a newly opened tourist spot in the outer area of Toyosu Market, based on the concept of becoming a "sacred place of all things delicious." In an atmosphere that recreates the streets of Edo, you can enjoy dishes and sweets made with fresh ingredients. It is drawing attention as a place where you can eat and shop. You can relax in the Senkyaku Banrai Rooftop Footbath on the 8th floor and enjoy spectacular views of Tokyo Bay. There is also an adjoining 24-hour hot spring facility.

Tama Sushi (sushi-making experience)

The sushi-making experience at Tama Sushi, a long-established restaurant founded in Tsukiji, is a popular program for gaining a deeper understanding of traditional Japanese sushi culture. It offers participants the rare opportunity to learn about traditional Japanese sushi culture and to make their own sushi. In this experience, you will be taught directly by a professional sushi chef, standing at the counter in a white chef robe just like a real sushi chef as you experience making authentic sushi. While learning how to make nigiri-zushi and hand-rolled sushi, you can experience the delicate techniques and delicious flavors of sushi. You can also have fun comparing the sushi you have made with the sushi made by the chef. After the experience, you will receive a certificate and an ukiyo-e coaster as memorabilia of this unforgettable experience.

From the general information desk at the first floor Arrivals area, travelers can find airport facilities plus get help for their vacation or business in everything including sightseeing and lodging, transportation, or renting a car.
Tabito, next to the Departure lobby, is the go-to shop offering from specialties from across Oita and Kyushu, to a full range of original gifts that can only be found at the airport. Here, you can find various items such as seafood products, confectioneries, and crafts unique to Oita.
The impressive view of the sky with planes flying about with the magnificent ocean spreading in the distance from the observation deck and cuisine gets you in the mood to travel. The observation counter, where you can see powerful airplanes up close, is popular with couples. Dining, which features local ingredients from Oita, is not to be missed. The airport has it all from Japanese to Western, to sushi and ramen, to dessert and drinks.

Beppu Jigoku Meguri (hell tour)

A tour of the seven hells where fumaroles and hot water vigorously erupt from the ground. In admiring the hells, the UmiJjigoku (sea hell), Chinoike Jigoku (blood pond hell), Tatsumaki Jigoku (tornado hell), and Shiraike Jigoku (white pond hell) have been designated nation scenic spots for their superior colors and formations.

Nakano Sake Brewery

This historic sake brewery founded in 1874 is located in Kitsuki City, Oita Prefecture. It produces sake brewed using traditional methods with life-giving spring water from Goreisen, which springs from 200 m underground and has won the top prize (Gold) in the Monde Selection for three consecutive years. The sake it produces has won over a large fan base. The sake "Chiebijin," named after the brewery's first female proprietress, is known for its soft, gentle sweetness and lovely touch of acidity, and is well liked for its diversity as it can be enjoyed both cold and warm. Classical music is played in the brewery to help produce delicious sake, and on tours of the brewery, visitors can sample several types of sake while learning about the history of the brewery as well as the brewing processes. Visitors can also immerse themselves in the historic landscape and enjoy the unique attractions of the castle town that has retained the distinctive atmosphere of the Edo period.

Kitsuki

It is the only place in Japan known as the Sandwich castle town. With the flavor of the Edo period remaining thick, it was the first in the country to be recognized as “Historic Cityscape with Kimono."
Around Kitsuki Castle, there is a group of samurai residences on the south and north hills, and a merchant town sandwiched in the valley between them. The rows of samurai residences and other buildings are a window into the past for you to enjoy and understand how the samurai and townspeople lived in the Edo period and what the town looked like. The view from the top of the hill is very dynamic, with the thatched roofs of the samurai residences and the white walls of homes, along with stone walls and bamboo groves forming a precious scenery that is often seen in a movie or TV drama.

Chikufusha (bamboo craft-making experience)

Chikufusha is a bamboo craft workshop in Beppu, Oita Prefecture. Beppu is known as the home of the Oita Prefectural Bamboo Crafts Training Center, the only training school for bamboo craftsmen in Japan. The workshop sells not only everyday items, but also many works of art. The items, including serving dishes and handled baskets for everyday use, are simple yet beautiful, fusing tradition with a modern aesthetic. In the bamboo craft-making experience, each bamboo strip is transformed into a powerful three-dimensional object through the repetitive processes of pressing, scooping, and weaving. You can experience up close the traditional Japanese craft of transforming a single, supple line into a beautiful shape. The bamboo crafts, which exude the warmth of handmade objects, are also perfect as souvenirs.
