Yoshinogari Historical Park
Yoshinogari Historical Park holds one of the largest remains of a moat-encircled settlement from the Yayoi period (third century B.C. to third century A.D.) in Japan. The remains of many dwellings, groups of raised-floor-style granaries, over 3000 kamekambo tombs, and tombs of the royal family from the mid-Yayoi period have been excavated here.
Within the remains of this settlement, buildings such as watchtowers and pit dwellings have been reconstructed, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the Yayoi period.
As well as experiencing the daily life and culture of Yayoi people and learning about the main shrine and watchtowers, you can enjoy moving around the wooden play equipment, created in the style of a watchtower, on the immense lawn.
