Kouraku Kiln produces a wide variety of Arita ware, ranging from dishes used for imperial banquets to those used in famous hotels and ramen stores. Kouraku Kiln is one of the most open kiln’s in Arita, and it offers treasure hunting as a fun family activity.
Both porcelain enthusiasts and amateurs will enjoy searching for treasures in its warehouse. Kouraku Kiln has been producing Arita ware for more than 150 years.
The rules are simple: Select one of the two courses (Standard or Elaborate) and a basket will be handed to you.
You have 90 minutes to fill your basket with ceramics. Once you have made your selection, we will provide you with packing material and a box.

Point

There are Canadian and Korean staff at the kiln who can provide assistance in English, French, and Korean. Various other experiences and classes are also available, including factory tours, potter's wheel/painting experiences, and medium- to long-term stays for pottery experience (accommodation facilities are available). Children can try their hand at archery after making bows and arrows by carving bamboo.
