Fushime Coast
The Fushime Coast boasts the Yamakawa Sand Baths with views of Kaimon-dake, and hot springs that naturally boil up all over the place. In the natural sauna of the sunamushi onsen (sand baths), dig up some of the sand at the beach and lie down, pile the sand on top of you, and bathe your body in the heat of the hot springs that bubble up. Under the pressure and warmth from the sand, after 10 or 15 minutes you will be sweating, and this is good for ailments such as arthritis, stiff shoulders, lower back pain, and sensitivity to cold. No matter what, listening to the roar of the waves on this coast full of nature, and taking hold of the feeling of exhilaration after rising from the sand, is one of the great things about the sunamushi onsen.
