Lake Ikeda
Formed by volcanic activity a long time ago, this is Kyushu’s largest caldera lake. It is 233 meters at its deepest point, and has a circumference of 15 kilometers. This mysterious lake is said to be inhabited by a strange creature called “Isshi.”
The lakeside cafe "IKEDAKOPAX" has a floating deck where you can spend a relaxing time admiring the views of Lake Ikeda and Kaimondake right before your eyes.
There are also facilities for experiencing lake sporting activities, and seasonal flowers that you can enjoy.
